What recipes work best with free range pork belly?
Free range pork belly works well in recipes that make the most of its rich flavour and tender texture. Try crispy air-fried pork belly strips served with rice and Asian greens, a pork belly rice bowl with pickled vegetables, or pan-fried pork belly finished with a sticky glaze. It is also well suited to slow roasting and braising when you want tender meat and plenty of flavour. Linley Valley Pork’s Free Range Pork Belly Strips can be air-fried in around 15 minutes for an easy weeknight meal.
Does Linley Valley Pork sell their free range pork belly direct to consumers?
We currently do not sell our Free Range Pork Belly Strips directly through our website. Instead, our range is available through selected butchers and retailers, including IGA stores, Farmer Jack’s and other independent supermarkets. Use the Where to Buy section on our website to find a stockist near you.
How should I store free range pork belly to keep it fresh longer?
Keep fresh pork belly refrigerated at 5°C or below and leave it sealed in its original packaging until you are ready to use it. Store raw pork on a lower shelf away from cooked or ready-to-eat foods to reduce the risk of cross-contamination, and always follow the storage instructions and use-by date shown on the pack.
If you are not planning to cook the pork before its use-by date, freezing it can extend its storage life. For best quality, keep pork well sealed to protect it from freezer burn and thaw it in the refrigerator before cooking.
What are the best marinades to pair with pork belly?
Pork belly pairs particularly well with marinades that balance its rich flavour with sweetness, acidity, spice or savoury ingredients. Try hoisin, lime and honey for a sticky glaze, or an Asian-inspired combination of soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, five-spice and a little sugar. Garlic, ginger, chilli, sesame oil and honey are also great additions when you want a sweet and savoury marinade.
